The Knights of St Columba (KSC)

The Knights of St Columba are a group of Catholic men who are dedicated to supporting the work of the Church. There are over 200 local councils throughout the UK with Horwich Council covering the town of Bolton and surrounding area. The Order follows the teachings of the Catholic Church and works for the Catholic support and social welfare of our communities.

  • We meet every month in the Rosary Room at St Mary’s and strive to help in the spiritual and faith development of all ages, particularly that of young people through both local and national initiatives.

Our activities also include:

  • The encouragement of pupils in schools to take part in sporting activities and competitions such as Christmas painting posters, public speaking and meeting young people from other districts.
  • We work alongside like-minded men in Faith, Family and Fraternity, and support families of members who have sadly died.
  • We support both local and national charitable events, continually serving and striving to make a difference. It is hoped that being a member of the Knights of St Columba will enable those involved to bring support to others which not only helps them, but also establishes friendships which will last a lifetime.”
